If you are asking how do you learn chess, then my recommendation would be to start from the end then go to the beginning and let the middle figure itself out. Why start at the end? Well you need to learn how each piece moves. If you are shown all the pieces in one go - it can be daunting. First learn how the King moves. Now let one player have a Queen. Learn how she moves and see if you can force matge. Then swap the Queen for two rooks, Then one Rook. Then two bishops.. Now you can learn the start...

  • I don't play well in either classic chess or the Chinese version which I also enjoy. There are many, many rules. Just remember that it is a game of strategy. I recommend finding a place where people play regularly and watch them. Then play a few games yourself. (Hint, play the ones that win most often)
