What kind of paper/printer combination to magazine publishers use, and is there a place where I can buy any of the extremely thin glossy paper?

    Find small local print companies. They usually have some in stock in regular cut sizes, or they can order it for you.

    This is a book grade gloss paper that can be found in a retail paper store, I'm not sure if you have one in your area, they are thick in California. Kelly Paper or XPEdX paper stores. Most publishers use printers, presses that are printing on rolls of paper much like newspapers.
