What is the best thing to give my 22 month old son for a bad tight cough?

    Cough syrups and medicines are not advised for under two's. Go to the doctor in case there the cough is a symptom of a more serious problem. Eg asthma, croup etc

    If you have a nebulizer, I would give him a treatment with one, but if you don't bring him into a steam filled bathroom, cup your hand and pat him on the back...of course don't do anything anyone tells you to do without consulting your pediatrician. Your son could be allergic to some of the nebulizer meds and I have no way of knowing that...

    There is Vic's Vapor rub for kids I use that on my Son when he's got a cough. you could also use eucalyptus oil on the pillow or in a humifier.
