I would say your soul but that is just a shot in the dark. You can tell much about a person from their eyes and I believe it is because as they say "the eyes are the window to the soul."

I would assume it means looking into the soul... I have heard that the eye on the dollar bill means that "God is watching" though.

Thats in fact "I", ones self, whatever eye is seeing is in fact myself only if I have a mind to recognise it.
