  • Most trade etc. is done in English anyway, it would make alot of sense, but I don't think it would be popular in non English speaking countries :-)
  • God no, please. Make it something interesting like french or Catalan or italian.
  • No, I don't think that English should be the official world language. I find that diversity, especially via language, is so important in keeping the traditions, customs and folklore "alive" for the worlds ethnic groups. I find so much beauty when I hear one speaking French and I remember my childhood when I overhear someone speaking German. My grandmother tried to teach me her native toung, Cherokee, but I was too young to learn it and can't remember any of it today. That is tragic! Let's keep the world an amazing place to live and to learn about our differences.

  • The choice of a European language is unfair to people from other continents, I think. Although some people claim that Esperanto is closer to European languages than any others, it didn't succeed.
  • It's the language I truly understand, so yes! :o)
  • English is the de facto lingua franca but it would be gratuitous to make it official. Besides, in some future millennium there may be a better choice.
