Canada doesn't have felonies and misdemeanours, just summary offences and criminal offences. The answer relates to what the maximum sentence in Canada for the offence would be. You will not be allowed into Canada for the maximum of the Canadian equivalent sentence plus 5 years. Then you MAY be allowed to visit. To work in Canada always requires a permit. You need to have the job before you can apply for the permit and to apply to be deemed rehabilitated, if your record is clean 5 years after the maximum sentence under Canadian law.
