    It's weird that I came across your Q today: I borrowed this Singing In The Rain DVD & on it were the original performances of the songs. So my answer is totally antique: Elinore Powell's rendition of Broadway Rhythm in the finale from Broadway Melody of 1936! And what a fantastic tap dance performance, too!
