By population, I think it might be Phoenix, Arizona.
-
Phoenix sounds like a decent guess, I am thinking Boston or Denver though... further research needed I think, and I'm just about bored enough to do it! Watch this space... edit - I was going through them all to make a list but since I found on wikipedia that Phoenix does indeed have the highest population of any state capital I lost interest in the rest, sorry! Just so I feel like I have contributed something though, Montpelier in Vermont is the SMALLEST state capital by population with only 8,035 people living in the city proper...

I believe I may have misread the question, but I will leave my post. Apparently Juno is the largest in area. Phoenix is the largest in population. Phoenix is home to 1,461,575 residents[2] (referred to as "Phoenicians"), making it the sixth-largest city in the United States and the largest state capital in the United States, with a greater population than any other state capital or Washington, D.C.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix,_Arizona

I am pretty sure the largest state capitol is Boston, MA.
-
Actually its atlanta, Ga. Boston seems bigger but much of seems to be boston is actually neighboring cities.
-
haha third and final answer is Austin Texas but apparently it depends on who you ask.
-
Phoenix is the largest state capital by population with just under 1,513,000. But Atlanta has the largest metro population with over 5,138,000.
-
By pure population it is Phoenix, metropolitan population is Atlanta, and Area is Juneau. the only problem counting Juneau is they consider the county as part of the city so, in reality, Oklahoma City is the largest by area.
