  • They are fantastic and deserve to be bragged about.
  • If you want to be a Navy SEAL, go ahead. Good for you. But only if you REALLY want to, and think you are ready. Some people join the military with a romanticized view, like "I wanna serve my country by killing lots of bad guys!" - only to seriously regret it.
  • Training, training, and once again training. But I do think it's amazing since I really doubt I could do so as of right now lol
  • they train everyday just for this type of problem. The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday +4
  • The SEALS did a fantastic job, I can't wait for the movie to come out. :-)
  • Not many people realize the level of professionalism the US, especially our Marine Corps and Navy SEALs units, actually are.
  • It's a very difficult shot, that's true, but there are things that can greatly help improve your accuracy. I would be willing to bet that they used some variant of heated aiming lasers combined with infrared goggles. I'm no longer familiar with the specific terminology, so that may be a bit off.
  • I think you should become a Sharp Shooter..study that Art yo:):) That's so Hot!:) But so are people who can always stay calm and divert the focus off of them:)LOL:)
  • and the other side was up and down moving as well...incredible pretty precise shooting for sure, goodcommunication as well.
  • They are truly amazing. I read a training book written by one of the instructors and those boys sure are put through the paces!
  • It's amazing, alright. You ought to see those guys train and deploy. They are pretty darned amazing all around with what they can do. One of the submarines I served on was a SpecOps boat, modified to carry a Dry Deck Shelter for a Seal Delivery Vehicle. They do some AWESOME stuff!
  • Pretty amazing! Yeah!
  • Although I respect your ambition, I feel that the military is glamourized. Just be sure to do your research so you may be aware of exactly what you are signing up for! Secondly, you had better mentally and emotionally prepare yourself for this journey. Good luck to you!
  • amazing
  • 79 feet? That's an easy shot for an experienced sniper. A rolling sea makes things a bit difficult, but in this case, steps were taken to reduce the effects of the sea. The lifeboat was under tow at the time (the Navy having offered to move the lifeboat out to calmer waters) and was in the calmer part of the destroyer's wake. This reduced the amount of pitch and roll the lifeboat displayed to the snipers, making the pirates that much less of a moving target. With the snipers on the fantail, they were arrayed more or less on the same plane, so when the plane intersected the pirate's heads, the snipers took the shot. Good shot, yup, but I expect no less from military snipers. It would be an amazing shot for the average rifleman or civilian hunter.
  • Sorry to break your bubble, but 79 feet is too short a distance to brag about any shot.
  • It was amazing and they made all of America PROUD!
  • wow that is pretty amazing
  • Yes but one fact remains, the Shooter would never brag about such a short-ranged shot. He would have been laughed out of the Navy if he had missed. The shot was not amazing at all. We are trained to make far more difficult shots as a matter of routine. If you are trained to build a deck as a Carpenter, you would be ticked if someone was "amazed" that you were able to saw a board.
