I was babysitting a 5 year old once and was reminded about how much they learn from what we say... The child was misbehaving a little, not being horrible but not listening very well and I said "It makes me very sad when you don't listen to what I am saying to you" The child turned to me and in a way I can only imagine his mother does said "Being sad is a part of life and you are just going to have to get used to it" HA!

Get freaked out cuz he thought sneezing was going to blow his nose off (he had a mean big brother)

I saw a little toddler use his newborn sister in a carrier as a stair to see over the counter in a Dairy Queen! He just stepped right on her! The funniest part was that the baby just looked a little uncomfortable but not hurt. This went on several seconds before the mother noticed. Her reaction was priceless! "YOU DO NOT STAND ON BABIES!" my sis and I, ten years later, still occasionally say that to make the other laugh.

we had just watched "Titanic" and my 2 little boys were taking a bath and one said to the other "I will never leave you Luke" just like Jack and Rose in the movie- so cute!

My son kept talking pretty loud in church & kicking the pew in front of us, thank goodness the lil old lady had a sense of humor but I tried tapping him on the leg & I kept telling him to be quiet as he was talking to his lil friend(they were about 2) & was talking pretty loudly so I tapped him again & he said I don't want to be quiet I want to be loud & heard. Also he kept kicking his lil foot & when I tried putting his leg down he kicked so hard his shoe flew up toward the preacher, we were about 8 isles back. It stayed there until the sermon was through!! Also during a tee ball game the kid didn't want to be tagged out on sencond base so he skipped second & went to 3rd & kept running away from the guy trying to tag him. They are so cute at that age.

I don't know about the funniest thing, but I had a pretty hilarious conversation with the 3 year old I take care of today. We were at Target and she pointed out how tall I am, and how she's growing too. She said that when she's "this big" (emphasizing by putting her hands up as high above her head as she could), she's going to be a huge monster, and her head is going to touch the sky and she's going to HAVE to eat people because she'll be so huge. This was all her reasoning, I didn't suggest any of it...I was dying laughing, it was so hilarious.

I was in the middle of changing my baby when her older sister (3yrs old) came running into the nursery with a book shouting "read now"! I told her not this minute because I was chaning sister. She turned around to our dog who was lying of the floor sunning herself through the window. She sat down, opened the book and commanded the dog to "read now"!
