Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a 1997 Chevy Tahoe with less than 70k Miles on the original transmission/ Engine. Everything was working perfect until I raised the Tahoe 6 inches. My speedometer was not working correctly and now my truck does not shift gears right. Any Idea’s?

These two problems are directly related.

*Before I can say that for sure, I need to know if you changed the wheels on your truck. *

The speedometer tells you how fast the truck is going. The same sensor tells the computer, in part, when to shift gears. If your speedo it off, then the transmission is getting the signal at the wrong time. Therefore it is shifting poorly.

Get the speed sensor checked, and if that doesn't find anything then check the computer.

Did you do any other modifications?

also with lifting comes extending . for example transmission levers ,longer cables to prevent binding etc. a can of worms for sure you need to check it all out this may only be a prelude to other worse disasters.
