Isn't morality a matter of how we treat others? The essence of morality is do whatever you want, but hurt no one. Gays in a loving relationship are hurting no one and by definition are behaving morally.

That's what I think, and clearly what you think, but not everyone has the same definition of "morality" nor the same understanding of what can "harm" someone else. For instance, perhaps the essence of morality is to behave as God intended, and perhaps people are judged not as individuals but as a communal organism, and so perhaps one person's immorality can hurt another through mere proximity. If I believed all this, and if I believed God intended heterosexual sex only, and I discovered there was a homosexual in my community, then I would be afraid that person's immorality would stain my own reputation with God. I'm not justifying these beliefs as right or as logical. But people do hold them.

If everyone was in a homosexual relationship the human race would disappear. How is this the essence of morality? Forget morality for a moment..does this make sense even biologically. Most religeons recognise marriage between one man and one woman as special..not just because one of them is needed on the back of the motorcycle..it is partly because a man compliments a woman and a man vice versa but to prevent the human race from becoming extinct.

Morality is merely a set of rules or principles that we live by. They are subjective so therefore different for everyone. You can not expect others to abide by your moral code. In my moral code homosexuals would be treated just the same as heterosexuals, bisexuals, black people, white people, everyone would be treated the same.

although, i am not gay, I do not, nor have i ever, believe that homosexuality is immoral in any way. it is a love based relationship, and that is not wrong. I would consider casuel sex less moral than homosexual sex. love is never an evil deed in my book!
