I have seen the play on stage and I have been diagnosing autism and asperger's for almost a decade. No, I don't think he did. Granted, he was very smart, yet rather narrow in his views of other people. However, that does not make someone asperger's. One thing I have learned from doing this so long is that we all have our little quirks, many people are verbose, quite a few have some sort of sensory thing going on, and many people have social difficulties. However, those things by themselves do not necessarily make someone asperger's. Looking beyond that, the inability to take others perspective or to pick up on the emotions/emotional expression of others, etc. make more of a case for asperger's. When you see those things along with difficulties across the board -in all areas and pervasive -then you begin to get a picture of asperger's.
