  • Yes, I crawled thru about 500 feet of a pipe when I was a kid
  • No thank you! Phew!
  • When I was in 4th grade, a friend and I were looking down a sewer near his house to see if we could see a ball that rolled down there, and began yelling to hear the echoes. We heard faint yells back, and kept yelling until 5 kids, maybe 6th, 5th, & 3rd grades (the latter crying) came into the little chamber by the curb. They'd wandered down about a third of a mile away, and were surprised to learn where they were. My friend's dad came over, and didn't even tell 'em to stay put while he called for help... we just told 'em where an open manhole cover was and they took off. So, no, I learned MY lesson...
  • Yeah but it was more of a water drainage pipe. I checked the source of the drainage and it was all water from sprinklers and maybe the gutters from the houses above. We crawled up into the pipe with some glow sticks and trash bags. It took about 2-3 minutes to crawl through the level part of the pipe then about a minute of uphill pipe. Once we got to the top, we would poke holes in the trash bag, stick our feet through and slide down the hill in the pipe. We would get going very fast and there was a turn that would force us to go up on the wall of the pipe. Usually we would stop before the pipe dropped out into the wash, but sometimes we would get going so fast that we would shoot out into the wash muck. It was a lot of fun.
