If they didn't bother to ask you, you have a right to be mad. Not all parties are college parties where you invite every person you pass on the street.
-
No, you're not wrong. They were extremely rude. Anyone you invite should call and ask permission to bring anyone else....
-
That is extremely rude and boorish. When you are invited someplace, you must always ask permission of the host/hostess in advance if it would be okay to bring others along. Some parties are meant for large crowds..the more the merrier. Some are not. It is not up to the guest to decide which kind of party it is. If they say "I'm bringing six other people" you say "sorry..can't accommodate them. I'll miss having you here."
-
No. It's your party, not theirs to ruin. They are the ones who are in the wrong.
-
No, you are right to be annoyed and to turn them away from the party. That's rude in the extreme. It's YOUR party. Invite who YOU want.
-
How Rude! I would expect them to bring a date, I would not expect them to bring their buddies. They could have simply called and asked if it was okay.
-
You're not wrong, HOWEVER - it is important to consider the characters of those you invite and adjust the invitations accordingly. This always works: "This party is by invitation only"
