  • I was into maths at an early age, when they tried to guide me I just said "I'll work it out later!" When i said I was going into medical school my father said "Why not just get a proper job like everyone else?"

  • No. My father actually discouraged me from going to college because, in his words "you're only going to end up being somebody's wife anyway". I later realized he was just afraid he might somehow be responsible for $s involved. I know he grew up in a different time but that really hurt; especially when all of my life I had straight A's, a 3.97 grade average and I graduated magna cum laude when I went to school and paid for it myself!
