  • I get paid for my holidays but yes it is just another day off.
  • I actually celebrate the big holidays, but Labor Day, President's Day and other smaller ones, I just see it as a day off.

  • Good Friday was never a religious occasion for me as a child. It was a day we welcomed in the Spring and as kids usually went on a hike. There were no ritualistic religious celebrations in my family however Easter Sunday was totally different, starting off with church in the morning and ending with a traditional Easter meal which we only had once a year.   • Usually both,but some more than others. I especially look at the celebration of Easter and Christmas. Even though Christ's birth and ressurection did not happen on those exact days, nevertheless, those holidays hold a special significance in my life because of what Christ did for me. How about yourself?
  • Holidays have become more of huge commercial endeavors rather than remembrance of what they once stood for. Which I find nauseating, so they are all just another day off.
  • With the exception of the kid specific types of holidays... I see them as a complete and total waste of perfectly good work time. Nothing used to piss me off more than to know I had something importent to finish over a long useless weekend of family and distractions.
  • Sadly, it depends on the holiday. As a school teacher, holidays can become a shining beacon of hope to not give up and do your job for x number of days, then you can rest. Othertimes, they are simply a different type of work; shopping, cleaning, and family visits (sigh). Once in awhile, I get a real holiday.
