You're reading I would like to open my Sony Vaio case up and repair the main's connector on the motherboard. Has anyone ever done this, how do you open up the case? I tried and I couldn't get it open. Its a laptop.

HI I don't know the technical term but it the connector whare you slot the mains cable to charge the battery up or use it main's only. I know as its not working or charging the battery. I tried google and lucked out.

if the ac adapter connector on the motherboard is fried, you'll have to get a new motherboard. I don't think you can repair that. Just make sure it's the connector, and not the adapter itself.
