I am a man who proudly purchases feminine hygiene products. They are like a badge that cries "I am in a relationship with a woman!"

I don't care. 50% of the population uses them for an extended period. What baffles me is the people who think there is something strange, icky, or "secret" about it.

Well, at my age, I'd rather be buying tampons than diapers. lol So, I don't really care if it's crowded.

I don't think it matters at all. If you need them, you need them, and all women will. It's not like anyone's going to look at them and think "OH MY LORD SHE MUST BE THE ONLY GIRL ON THE PLANET THAT HAS A PERIOD! GROSS!"

As a female, it doesn't matter to me. I actually have a story to follow up with:
My sister didn't want to go into the store for her tampons, so being the nice sister that I am, I went for her. The thing with her is that she shops in bulk, so I had to pick up three boxes of tampons for her. Count them, three! So, I was waiting in line and feeling rushed because I was due at work in about 5 minutes, and a group of men- maybe 4, 5 of them- noticed my frustration and let me get ahead of them in line. The man closest to me noticed what I was buying and whispered to his friend, "three boxes?? Do they need that many?" To which his friend lamely replied, "I don't think so. They must be on sale or something."
I laughed at them, and it turned into a huge thing where everyone around that was pretending not to hear it started laughing too.
Since then, it's been no big deal.

It is only an issue for younger women, as you get older it's not a big deal at all. It's nice when you get comfortable shopping for those kinds of things because there is a large selection and everyone prefers something different. Don't be embarrassed, take your time and browse!

I think this is more of a problem for younger women. by the time you get to your 40s, you don't care any more. You just want to get your stuff and go. LOL

I'm a guy. I don't care how crowded the store may or may not be.

I haven't cared how crowded stores have been ever since my sister HAD to have some tampons/sanitary napkins back shortly after she first started and was too embarrassed to buy them herself and was in tears begging me to do it.

I mean, if you need them, what's to be embarrassed about?

I'd be as self consciously aware of buying sanitary products with my groceries as I would be the washing powder or the toothpaste.

To be honest, I do still get embarrassed by that. I know there is nothing to hide. I would prefer the store being almost empty, or if it was crowded, be filled with people I do not know.

I'm going to answer the question from a different perspective.

I always want the store almost empty, whether I'm shopping for pads, or celery.

It has nothing to do with embarrassment.

I've bought them before, and I'm a guy. Didn't bother me at all. I don't go run and get extra shit I don't need in an attempt to hide it. I've gone into the store simply to buy condoms and lube and that's all I've walked out with. It's a part of life, nothing to be ashamed of.

It doesn't matter to me one way or another. It's an every month occurrence, so I deal with it. I think if I were buying something embarrassing like some kind of ointment for sores, then I'd want the store empty! :-)

I don't care. It is a natural process, and I figure buying them beats the consequences of not buying them. I don't think of it any different than buying toilet paper.

I've never brought tampons or sanitary towels being male and all but i am a cashier.

Girls you really don't have to worry if you do get embarrassed the cashier has probably served 4 or 5 packs that day and either way your a stranger and its natural. We don't pass judgement i just stick um in a bag with the rest of the shopping.

See now condoms... i have some fun with condoms. Our condoms are behind the till with the medicines so i walk over to the medicine cupboard and make them shout what they wanted out. Makes my day more fun :P lol

either reli empty, so nobody sees, or reli busy, so nobody can see....i think im paranoid about it cos when i was growing up i lived with my dad, and he always used to say to the cashier "theyre not for me" reli loudly and make everyone look to see what wasnt for him :(
