kayak.com is a good place to book flights and hotels. It searches all major airlines and other sites like travelocity for the best prices.

This is not a widely known site but in a Consumer Reports study, it had the lowest prices nearly 70% of the time. I have used them many time and I travel nearly 100K miles a year. Oh and to get the cheapest prices sign up for the "preferred Customer" it's free and it's a very nice site. http://www.poeboy.rovia.com
