If your are very valuable to a company, say a technicians spot, and the employees are dropping like flies because of pay, including every tech except you, would you ask for a raise?

    That all depends.Were the others let go because they were less knowledgeable then you or because the company needed to downsize because of financial difficulties?.How much time do you need before you can retire from the company?.I assume you are in private industry.I would trend lightly if I were due to retire in less then three years cause companies may look to get rid of you simply because they do not want to honor what may be in your severance package.

  • Good question. No, I wouldn't because the company might let me go and re-hire one of the other techs.
