  • Yes. Impossible to say, but there are currently over 120 people known to be over 110 years old living in the industrialized world - half of them 110, a third 111, about 30 who are 112, and a dozen who are 113-115. That probably means there are another 100-200 who are known to be 109. But again, that's just the known ones, and only in Europe, the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. So there could well be a few hundred more. The longest confirmed human lifespan on record is 122 years (a French woman, 1875-1997) though I've heard geneticists say we can't live past 120 years (though perhaps they're rounding). At any rate, if someone was born in 1900 (the last year of the 19th century), then he couldn't live much past 2020.
  • Sure are. There are plenty of people 110 yrs old and older, but not enough to fill a large city. The last one will be gone when his or her heart says enough is enough.. ;)
