No. For one, there is public safety, and more specifically, there is public security. Public safety can be more widely defined as far as safe highways, food safety, fire safety, building safety, consumer product safety. Yes at times, government efforts to promote public safety can prove burdensome and bureaucratic. When exercised with balance, foresight, and good common sense, public safety is a good thing. It protects us and lowers costs of products and services in the long run.
