They may have built some type of flying machine. This site has a bit about the mystery of it: http://www.2atoms.com/weird/ancient/plane.htm However, they were probably not like today's airplanes. It doesn't seem likely that they were passenger vehicles. They may have had the idea and may have had different models and even some working models. However, we can't be sure, really, unless we were able to go back in time to see the truth for ourselves.

I don't think airplanes, but there is reason to believe they could have used hot air balloons.

yes and they built oceanliners and trains. and they used the dewey decimal system. they had free postage and the internet on computers, mostly dell and gateways.

Only model ones. Maybe hot-air balloons.

Not likely, but they were known to chew on coca leaves (the source of cocaine) as they do today. Perhaps this was another idea which came to man in a dream and was laughed at by the local experts.
