I've got probably a dozen or so of his novels. He seems to be pretty hit-or-miss to me. Some are great, some don't really work for me. But he wrote one of my favorite all-time novels, Strangers.

His was the first real novel that I read. I feel in love and then had to start alternating between him and King as they both tend to tell the same story over and over. Peter Straub is another great writer in that genre. If interested in Koontz, however, may I recommend "The Face". It is an intriguing tale and very well written, much better than anything else of his I have ever read.

I've read 7 or 8, pretty bizarre, but interesting enough to keep me reading. One of my sister's really liked him and gave me one, after that I bought the rest.

Yes, several of his novels, in fact. However, after a while they all kind of started to meld into one long, continuing story. That's why I stoped reading them.

I read a few. My mom used to love his books, so after she was done she'd pass them on to me. I can't recall any off the top of my head though.

I read Watchers several years ago and I thought it was okay. Afterwards, I read Falling (I think that's the name) and thought it was slow and boring, so I stopped reading Koontz.

    Amphetamine is alone again

    Have I!!!!
    I love his books.
I am finding though, that they are changing. The older ones (Lightning, Watchers, Strangers, The Bad Place) were kind of mystery books. Some more recent ones (From the corner of his eye, One door away from heaven)were more spiritual. The most recent, however, have left me cold.
Is it possible he's lost it???

I've said it twice on this list. So, the third time's the charm. . .

It is so hard for me to choose a single novel as my favorite from this man who I believe to be the greatest living author. His prose is infused with poetry and his novels ask the difficult questions, while underscoring the power of the human spirit. I just purchased his most recent (The Good Guy) and am relishing the thought of opening it tonight!
