I agree with whatever the Prez and his staff think is the right thing to do since I don't know a dam* thing about any of it! :)

Sure do.. large scale war funding can be cranked up in a very short time if needed while counter insurgency is more based on intelligence gathering, but required to fight wars. No large scale war can be won without insurgencies from one side or the other and the wars we're currently involved with or will be involved in any time now or in the future will have to require counter insurgency tactics as well as our own insurgent efforts. Say for example we went to war with China we could easily bomb them back to the stone age, but without insurgent efforts the CCP would eventually win over. I personally hope our policies change from China as a business partner to seeing them as a hostile adversary because that's exactly what China's Communist criminal empire is..very hostile not only to us, but especially to their own people who have become extremely accustomed to witnessing murder on a massive scale, all done through insurgencies.

The last President and the Military Industrial complex spent the last eight years getting ready for world war two. Any departure from useless large scale, useless weapons systems is a great idea, in my opinion. It's nice to have a president that lives on this planet.

That would make a hell of a lot more sense than our current attempts at swatting flies with a baseball bat.

yes! the average Americans hears on the news "defense spending cuts" and see the file footage of a bunch of soldiers going in to clear a building, and think "oh they are going to cut rifles and canteens. NOT. they are cutting programs like the ALS (Airborne Laser System)that they have been developing since the 1970's and it is still not practical enough to field, imagine how much they have spent on it, probably the GNP of a small country. also, the Air Force was pushing for development of another fighter, hello, the F-22 has never been used in air to air combat. the Navy wants more subs, the defense budget is a political term for a feeding frenzy by defense contractors. yes I agree with him
