  • No I am afraid there is not.
  • Probably not, but my guess is that if you plead your case, the judge will probably fine you and sentence you to some public service as long as this is your first offense.
  • Unfortunately for you, the man has a legal right to press charges. If it was self-defense and he was beating you up--then you would have a right to fight back. You were not the subject of the attack--you could have called the police if you felt it was serious or called for help from others. You don't really state if he accidentally bumped into your girlfriend or really pushed her. Also, did your girlfriend start the incident with the man? For example, did she smack him, or try to steal something from him? Why would he just walk up and push her over, as you say? You are leaving too much information out to really judge what was going on. If we are just looking at this in black and white, you had no legal right to lay a finger on this person.
  • Probably not but next time you decide to do something like that knowing you are going to get into trouble anyway... Make sure its a good beating! Like as in two bruises short of attempted... you know what!
  • If the guy isn't pressing charges then you should be able to get them dropped. Unfortunately, if the guy pushed her over, was trying to leave the scene instead of continuing the assault, presented no threat to you or her after that, and is pressing charges, then the charges probably won't be dropped. This is true especially if he accidentally knocked her over.
  • No It was not self defense, and even if it was you he had pushed, you would have been charged with excessive use of force because you are only legally entitled to use the least amount of force necessary to remove yourself from immediate danger.
  • THESE PEOPLE ARE WRONG! I am studying law and you were justified in hitting him back in order to defend the lives of you OR OTHERS. However, if you delayed before you hit him back then he might press charges. Even if this is so you can expect compassion from the court because it was done in passion.
  • Violence is very rarely the answer to any problem. Especially violence inspired by anger. Irregardless of whether your gf was knocked over accidently or intentionally. Retalliation is not a smart response. If the guy presses charges you have a problem. Resolve the issue peacefully with him and you have a chance to avoid prosecution. Otherwise, you are in for a rough ride.
  • Beating him up was not the answer. You created more danger for your G/F. That's why we have laws, they are for all the people. Chances are (if) you don't have a pior record of violence the judge will slap your wrist, it depends on what mood the judge is in and your attitude.
  • if u got proof then fuck him...ur freeeeee
