  • I think you should have asked this question under economics or something similar. My best guess is that the U.K. is one of the top "drunkard" countries in the world, especially with all the Polish people there, and other nationalities; and with that being the truth, I guess that the prices can stay low and the companies still can make enough money to prosper. BTW, how much does a standard European 0.5 L beer cost in the U.K.?
  • It was cheaper a few years ago. Its extremely hard to get a case of 24 cans now. Most supermarkets seem reluctant to stock anything over an 18 pack size. This makes it frustrating when trying to organise a BBQ for twenty people. Its especially frustrating that I cannot easily obtain a large pack size (because of a knee-jerk reaction to 'binge drinking'?)and yet the licensing laws were changed to allow for 24hr drinking in clubs and bars. Off topic- but such a contradictory policy it pisses me off.
