  • I use ebay :-)
  • I would think yard sale unless it is like a vehicle or something along that line for yard sale is tax free you dont report it. Online auction or ebay there is a set minimum and they can bid that no higher bids then have no choice but to give up under their sales clauses. Flea Markets are so/so hit and miss on those depends on the area you are in.
  • I'd probably do a yard sale if I could, but I can;t in downtown Boston. So with that option out, I'd list it on Craigslist.
  • I have had EXCELLENT luck with Craigslist - I'm 5 for 5 and every item has never lasted for than 2 days
  • Probably the last one..although to be honest about it I'd be in the house and let Jim handle it. He is a lot more outgoing and friendly with strangers than I am! :)
  • 1, 2 and 5 are good inexpensive ways to raise cash.
  • I sell a lot of stuff on craigslist especially appliances i scrounge from apartment complexes, etc. I know how to fix washing machines and dryers and can do a lot of repairs on most refrigerators. The problem is the city has begun to muscle in on the appliance racket and won't allow apartments to even leave them out for junkers so I have to call them or make direct contact with the guys who work in them. Ebay is a racket and will rip you off if you're not careful. They bill for every listing and often bill things in multiples.. caution is advised and don't fall for the scams of buying wholesale or drop shipping.. Yard sales are getting tough too because where i live yiou have to get a permit and they limit us to two sales per year..bastards.. Flea markets are always filled to capacity and charge outrageous rents.. Craigslist all the way!
  • I would NEVER buy anything that I could not SEE first. I've tried selling on Craigslist and have had some good results and some not so good .. as I will not do shipping ... and want buyers to come to my home. I do not trust e-bay and I hear it is getting expensive and some folks are being double and even triple billed and it takes months to get it sorted out ; in the meantime YOUR $$$$ are being held up ... I would just set my stuff out in the front yard or driveway IF I lived on a busy street ... Don't have to PAY anyone else .... so you can ask a little less. Sometimes the Flea markets are the best way to go as folks are out looking for a good deal in these hard economic times .... Some Flea markets have a "Garage Sale aisle" and on Friday and Saturdays ; you get a SPECIAL RATE for selling in that aisle as long as eveything is USED ...
