No. If I was risking death, I'd be too scared to "really live".
-
There's ultimately no choice but yes.
-
No, you just have to be born.
-
You could say that, though it is more important to be content with the life you have as long as you have it, knowing that you will die someday, as all do.
-
Nope. Not this lady. I do really live and I have no intention of doing foolhardy/dangerous/hotdog showboating to live life "on the edge". Some people may need that adrenalin rush to feel alive..jaded they are I think. There is nothing jaded about me. I get thrilled when I see the sunrise..I don't need to go bungee jumping or skydiving or take up extreme sports to get the juices flowing! :) ((hugs))

Maybe not literally, but it does go back to my idea that in order to know real happiness, you need plenty of pain and misery to define it...whatever living is for you, it needs to be defined by the extreme, because we often lose ourselves in a state of stagnation, and pursue our existence as the living dead.
-
Sure, as long as you don't take foolish and unnecessary risks
-
You must be willing to let your fears die.
-
You don't have to be willing to die, but I think what that saying means is that you shouldn't be scared, not that you should be like suicidal or something.
-
You need to be willing to LIVE, as in take chances, live life to its fullest. You must be willing to go for it, no fear.
-
No. There's a difference between being willing to die and accepting death as an inevitable consequence of life. I am not willing to die - I don't want to die - but I accept the fact that I will someday die. I snowboard, ride motorcycles, and engage in other relatively risky behavior, but a respect for death as well as a healthy fear of it is what keeps me alive.
-
in order to live you must accept that death will come and that things you do may increase teh risk of an early death... if you hide from death you won't life... but that does not mean you can't fight tooth and nail to live.
-
For me, when the fear of death becomes subordinant to a given experience, my life gets much richer.
