I had a dog who was allergic to her own skin. It took several skin biopsies to identify the problem. The answer came from a university lab in Texas. The conditions sound similar. Unfortunately, there was no cure. I don't recall being told a specific medical term for this condition.

My dog did the same and I found a cure. Silver water. You can buy it from some pharmacists in the form a spray - about £20 per bottle. If you remember there are new silver plasters out for skin conditions - well this works for most mystery animal irritations and vets don't seems to acknowledge this - it works very quickly and if you try it there's no risk either. We spent hundreds with the vet until a friend told me about it.

Sounds like skin ulcers/ulceration. Could be caused by allergies or insect bites. Theres also "mange" where skin can lesion and fester.

I'm very sorry to hear about your dog's condition. I am a 12 year old girl, and my dog died of renal failure this morning. he was 7 years old and the sweetest dog ever. unfortunately, we found out about his disease to late to treat it- we noticed what a bad state he was in on saturday- it is now wednesday. My dog shadow was my best friend ever, and i havent been able to go to school today- probably ont tomorrow either. once again im very sorry to hear about your dog and i hope he wont be as unlucky as mine.
