Had my tongue pierced 4 days now...and the swelling is so bad that the barbell is digging into the top of my tongue leaving a large indent. people say this is normal but im worried its so tight my tongue will heal over the ball?? i cant ge

Your DNA assures that your tongue will only produce cells to repair your tongue back to it's original shape. It's why your skin has never grown funny animal shapes when healing.

i think you may have what my friend had, if this is the case, the barbell is too small and is putting pressure in your tongue. if its is kept in the it is more likely the whole bar including the balls will go straight through the hole in your tongue, scary i know but its worth getting it changed to a bigger one :)

go back and see hu pierced it for you they will give you a bigger bar and when he put's it in within 2 days the swellin will ov gone down it should be ok

Nothing to worry about at all the swelling will subside at in a week so I'm sure by now your fine, huh?

Its normal, just continue to eat ice to reduce the swelling and make sure to keep your tongue clean. It also helps not to use your tongue (hard i know!)

my advice would be to go and see whoever peirced you. as part of your aftercare they will check it out for you and let you know if you should be worried or not. they could possibly change the bar for a longer one. i think it sounds normal though, and it is unlikely that it will heal over the ball, thats not the way the tongue heals
