  • I bought one once because I love the smell of it when it was lit. It leaked all over in my pocket and I tossed and never got another one. I quit smoking years ago and now I have no use for one.
  • Yes, I bought a camouflage one about 4yrs ago, dropped it in my garden about 3yrs ago, have never seen it since!

  • Years ago....lost it with in the week!
  • Somewhere in my collection of motorcycle memorabilia, I have an old Zippo with the old Indian Motorcycles logo on it. I don't know it's exact age, but I suspect it to be from the late 1940's to early 1950's. In 1955 Zippo started marking their lighters with identification codes, to show the year of manufacture. This lighter has no such markings, and Indian stopped manufacturing motorcycles in 1953.
  • The oldest Zippo I have is a little more than 40 years old. I have a few Ronsons that are a good bit older. (I collect odd nostalgic stuff)
  • yes I still have it my mom gave it to me about 7 years ago.
  • By the time I smoked, it was a guy thing.
  • hubby has about four, the oldest on i think is only a few years old.
  • 1970s. I've got a small "tobacciana" collection. Maybe a dozen or so lighters. A large tin Marlboro Man sign. A couple of vintage cigarette cases. Some metal 3D ashtrays with figures on them (dogs, horse, clipper ship, etc). Some cigarette trading cards - various themed images. Quite a few matchbooks. Some magazine pages with celebrities (Lucy & Desi, for example) in cigarette ads. Some other stuff packed away that would be fun to "re-discover". lol But back around to Zippo lighters. That company has gone out of its way to produce "collectibles" - many themes - above and beyond it's standard lighters. I remember the days when it was great fun to get the hang of USING a Zippo. Something very satisfying about the SOUNDS of it opening .. firing up a light .. then CLICKING it shut. Getting that down to quick, efficient one-handed action was almost as good as what I'd imagine western heroes felt when they had practiced enough to handle a gun and holster in smooooooth moves. LOL!! Short answer: yes. 1970s. :)
  • I have. I think it was 5 years old.
  • I must own twenty of them some are 20 to 25 years old
  • Never owned one
  • I have three the oldest one is over 10 years old.
  • My oldest Zippo was made in 1936. Three years after the first Zippo ever was sold and four years after the first prototype was made.
