I don't really give a shit what any tolerance group says, if I were to be perfectly honest about it. • I agree entirely. It should be taught in music schools as an example of the best of rock. If anyone ever says to me that rock music cannot be compared to classics, I refer them to November Rain. It shows that classically trained performers such as Axl can compose something that, I believe, Mozart would have loved. (In fact, I think Mozart was the first rocker...look at his lifestyle. LOL)

• The original GNR band members had such a magical combination together. I wish they could find a way to get along, stay clean from drugs & alcohol, and rock together again. I know what you mean about Mozart. He was the ORIGINAL rock star of his day.

  he commands the strings pretty damn well
  
  i've seen quite a few guitar players and if a guy is good and is very on it is hard to pick a best...if this is not the best solo it sure as hell is at least tied with anybody else

• Yeah, reminds me of running the Great North Run - the biggest half marathon in the world, and this is the signature tune. He actually played it at the start near the Tyne Bridge when I ran it.

• I never heard of him until he came out with that solo years ago. I'm sure many of these music gurus can tell you more. He's done many other great solos as well, but I think he's best known for that one. Pretty awesome hugh?!

• Back in the 90's we had a friend who had a 15 year old daughter who was desperately trying to carve out her own identity. One day I asked her to name her favorite band, and she said (much to my amusement) "Spinal Tap!". It took 10 minutes of confusing "Who's on first?" banter to realize that the "band" had actually released albums after the movie, and she had taken these as serious music and welded them into her budding identity! That is the hardest straight face I ever kept. :-)
