  • I take it you have something to cover the cast to prevent it from getting wet, i would advise asking someone to help you and have them stay with you to ensure your safety.... sit on the edge of the bath and swing the good leg in you would need to pull yourself up on to your feet at that point, or get your helper to assist you, also ensure you have a put a rubber bath mat down in the bath first to prevent you slipping
  • Im in a leg cast myself. I know that there are places that sell covers for your cast, talk to the doctor that gave you the cast about it. I hate the putting one leg out of the bath thing. I dont get near as clean.
  • porta-shower outside? or go to someone who has one of those walk in showers they're good
  • I have one leg, and deal with shower issues routinely. My house has a walk-in / roll-in shower with a built in seat. It was horrendously expensive, but well worth the cost. An inexpensive solution is to purchase a portable shower bench. (Perhaps the NHS supplies such items.) They allow you to get into the bathtub easily and safely by sitting on a high bench. There is no need to get down into the tub. I imagine that you could place a bench outside the shower to support your casted leg while sitting on the bench with our other leg in the tub. It should not be too hard to keep the cast dry with creative adjustment of the shower curtain, and perhaps the use of a silicone sleeve designed to keep your cast dry. Good luck to you! I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would be to live with such a heavy, hot cast in the summer. Let me know how it it works out.
