I wish they would more, because I know a lot of girls that think the guys should make the first move, however, I am shy around girls, I such at the frist move :(

Normally they want to see a sign that the man is interested. Traditionally a man has mostly had to make the first move, and this old conditioning dies hard !

Because females need to have the 'alpha male' that will protect her :P And want to know that the man wants HER, not just goin out on a pity date.

Historically, many cultures viewed "making the first move" as the man's part in courting. Making an overture of any kind implied a desire for sex and that was improper for a woman. It was assumed that all men wanted sex and all women wanted to be taken care of. A woman who wanted sex was baaaad. This has been so deeply engrained in our society that it has become a social norm. While many women today may make the first move, the norm is still established. Women want to be wanted. Men just want whatever it is they set their eye on.

Many Females DO make the first move...it all depends upon the person! I assuredly made the first move on my husband and I think the one guy I lived with once too... To optimize the potential...be open and friendly to those females you are interested in..be approachable...someone who might welcome them making their interest more clear. Then enjoy the stroke to your ego when they follow through! If Females never made the first move at all...well..Lesbians would be in one heck of a mess now wouldn't we!?

I think females often do make the first move, but they do it in such a way to make the male *think* that they are the ones making the moves. Females are just sly like that.
