Quite a few times. I coped by being p.b'ed:)
-
Oh yes. How did I cope with it? There is nothing to be done for it. Shrug and go on.
-
I got a very bad taste of that tonight and I was just trying to be a good friend to this person. Fu*k them and I'm not coping well.
-
Oh, yeah! I summarily dismiss the person from my life if I see they aren't ready to change. I choose not to carry someone else's dead weight.

Yes. Just once. two weeks back. A countryman of mine who is also an AB user misrepresented some customs of my country - India. He got into a serious argument with two other friends of mine - one Englishman and an American - who knew the Indian traditions better than what this particular user did. One of them asked me for clarification of the matter. I posted a comment under the long comment thread explaining the custom as it is practiced in India. As this was contrary to the misrepresentation given by the other user - he started name calling me under the same comments thread. Two other Indian users too joined in and they too got into the firing line of this particular user. Finally I had to write to the AB staff in feedback about the whole incident who promptly deleted the answer by the other user and the entire comments thread. Whether he was put in the penalty box or not - I do not know. I never cared to look at his profiles page.

I would guess the infamous Ann C -- who is actually a male teenaged hacker and stalker -- is someone with seething displaced anger aimed at all that are behaving themselves decently. His favorite trick on AB is to set up a new account under some other users handle, then post some extremely outrageous question in an attempt to slander them. He may ask why he can't quit using Meth, or drinking, or about homosexuality. Anything he thinks will freak out the real user he is pretending to be.
