Well... uhhh... there is only one internet. Whether it is www, www2, www32702... it is still on an web server somewhere, whether intra (internal only) or internet server. If you want a WEB site, hence the www (regardless of what comes after it), then you need to put it on a web server, whether in your home or hosting it elsewhere. But to directly answer your question, there are not multiple "internets"...

The www part is meaningless. It's the last part that you have to choose. For instance .com is for commercial sites, .org is for organisations. There are some organisations that let you set up a domain for free as a subdomain of their own domain. You still need to set up your webserver, email server etc. though.
