  • Having researched this, I do know that it's one of the least addictive substances there is, (you apparently have to have a genetic predisposition towards addiction to become addicted to marijuana), and it's impossible to overdose on (you would have to EAT 1,500 pounds of the stuff in 15 minutes to die from it.) There have been no deaths directly attributed to marijuana, (although smokers have died from accidents while high. A risk you also run with alcohol.) I've heard contradictory figures about it and cancer. it does contain a carcinogen compound, THC, but the amount seems to vary depending on source. Some say the carcinogens are less than cigarettes, some say they are more. The one place they all agree is that you'd have to be a habitual user, smoking several joints a day, to run a cancer risk. Most pot smokers are not habitual, but casual. And since the THC is expressed in the smoke, eating it is perfectly safe with no risk that has been determined. Aspirin is more dangerous than pot, as the former can cause bleeding ulcers if you take to many.
