Well controversial on here translates into Religion, Sexual Orientation and abortion.... For something more specific - Spicy Hot has a good idea in the octuplet mum or what about the Fritzl case in Austria?

Bailouts v payouts? racism - the Obama effect? the increasing divide between rich and poor? legalising drugs? the rise of the "celebrity" (case in point, Uk Big Brother "star" dying of cancer in the media spotlight) My goodness - any issue you see here - well maybe not the mashed potato question (what do you add to mashed potatoes etc) - go to some of the topic areas and see what is being discussed. The existence of psychic ability is a controversial issue and there is plenty of literature on both sides of the debate. It's kind of interesting in that the closer you look at it, the more weird it all gets.

The REAL controversial issues are conspiracy theory stuff : The Kennedy Assassanation is a much safer topic than 9/11. James Fetzner has edited good books on both. One problem for you on 9/11 is that libraries seem to carry none of the numerous pro-conspiracy books on it.
