The long story - We suburban folks had been to New York City twice in a lifetime, and could not wait to get out of there; crowded, noisy, everyone in a hurry, taxi horns, etc. Then a friend, who grew up in Brooklyn, said we needed her to be our guide. We drove up to Staten Island and took the ferry over to Manhatten, piad our respects at the hallowed site of 9/11, had lunch at "The Tavern on the Green", visited St. Pat's, strolled thru SoHo, went to the top of the Empire State bldg., and left on the ferry at dusk to see the awesome sight of the city skylight ablaze with lights. Ellis Island and Lady Liberty was an emotional experience. WE NOW LOVE NYC!! Katz's Deli, The Tenement Museum, the parks of SoHo, wow, wow, wow!!
