If he works for a company then hes not self employeed, no.

He should be able to answer that? If he's employed, his employers would be deducting his National Insurance contributions and Tax, if he's self-employed, it's his responsibility to pay them

If he is a citizen of the US he has to pay income tax in the US IRS 1099 form, used for income other that a company. (lotteries, self employment, etc) this is in additon to any taxes paid in the UK

My husband was considered an employee for the UK company when he lived in the UK, but now that he lives in the US, he won't be paying taxes in the UK. For IRS purposes, is he considered self-employed or something else?
