You're reading Can being on antidepressants make a person do extreme things? Such as breaking up a long term relationship? My ex broke up with me right after he started taking these meds, And when he said he's thinking clearly i dont believe it. I'm worried about him

Good point :) I just remember asking my roomate the same question and he said the pills he used to take (My BF) took effect very quickly, Mainly which has me worried.

for depression, they wouldn't give anybody fast acting pills (incase of overdose). please don't take this the wrong way but it could be in his head or he's in denial. find out what pills he's on. they could just be placebos.

I agree with you here, I did check out the pills and they are antidepressants. I do think he's in denial but since i respect his feelings i've backed off and am letting him do his thing. I just refuse to be back up bait for when he realized what he's missed out on :)~

its your choice but sometimes a break does both involved a lot of good. you will both miss each other but at the moment he is stuck. the love you both share will bring you back together so don't think of yourself as "back up bait", think of yourself as the wonderfull girlfriend who helped her man through a very hard time and took a back seat for a while.
I've been in his shoes and in the long run, you will both feel worse for letting what you had fall apart.
