Help answer this question below.

Can being on antidepressants make a person do extreme things? Such as breaking up a long term relationship? My ex broke up with me right after he started taking these meds, And when he said he's thinking clearly i dont believe it. I'm worried about him

    dls

    these pills normally take a few weeks to get into your system. they are designed to send signals to your brain to make you "normal" . because it does take time, your boyfriend wouldn't of felt a change in himself which is why he says he's thinking clearly (because he thinks he is) its not like smoking weed or drinking alcohol where the change happens within minutes/hours.

    a side affect of these tablets is suicidal thoughts/nightmares. but don't worry. he'll be ok.
    let him see you as a friend and help him through these hard times but dont push him.
    He needs to know you are there for him and he will come back when he is ready.

    Sometimes we just need space. it might of hit his ego having to take the pills in the first place.
