Pour enough vinegar in it to cover the scale and let set overnight. pour out, then shake salt water in it. Rinse well.

Do it regularly, use equal amounts of vinegar and water to fill kettle, let it boil then rinse kettle well after.

The best, old-fashioned and safe remedy is white vinegar!! If you pour white vinegar in, let it sit for about an hour, then pour out......the first time, you may have to let it sit longer..... Then just use the vinegar about once a month to keep it nice and clean!!!
