Is there any sure way to stop yourself from holding a self protective grudge against someone you care for?

    Why would you want to give up a "self protective" grudge?

    Seems to me, that is the best kind of "grudge" to hang on to.

    Unless you feel the time for this self protection has passed and they won't harm you again?

    Frankly, when you reach a level of trusting them not to hurt you again...the grudge will drop like an unused shield you no longer want to haul around.

    Till then it's best to keep your armour handy.
