On a serious level, larger horses tend to tire more easily than 'ponies' Pintos tend to have a better endurance than an Arabian - whilst the Arabian is larger and a great trotter/walker for short distance, the Pinto is a good choice for all out gallop/runner over a longer distance. "Ponies" also require less food - less water and recover faster from a hard days run than a larger breed of horse.
