Depends on the pain. Chiropractors specialize in backs. If that's what's hurting, they can do more for you than doctors. MD's have only two methods, both with huge risks. Medication and surgery. Chiropractors have more options and use neither drugs nor surgery and often get better results.

I've had excellent results with chiropractors because I use their service properly. They are excellent for correcting pains that emanate from the spinal column as a previous correspondent mentioned. I had severe right shoulder pain when I was building my house and drugs did not help. A doctor wanted to inject cortisone into the joint. I've had this before so I tried a chiropractor first. It was cured in 2 visits. A few months more and it returned, two visits later it was permanently cured. Other pains from wounds or internal organs are better handled by a medical doctor. The point is that you have to make an intelligent choice, neither practitioner is good for all problems. My I have been referred to the other by both the doctor and the chiropractor. My medical insurance pays for either. An honest doctor will point you in the proper direction, the trick is the find an honest one.

For my lower back pain I see a chiropractor about 4x's a year and then I use pain relief meds for my pain. If you need to get some pain relief meds you can order them online legally at www.24hrpharmacies.net where they use U.S. licensed doctors and pharmacies and the same FDA approved meds as your local pharmacy. I use Tramadol for my low back pain which works really well. My doctor referred me to this site and I have been ordering from here for about a year now.

Honey, I went to pt. and also went to chiro. Nothing helped me. I have bad disc and also a nerve that swell off and on. You may be better off to go to the doc. first.. Then let him tell you what is going on.. I hope this helps you... They will not treat you for your pain. They will have you to go to a pain management doctor. For injections and your pain meds..

A chiropractor made my back pain worse! An Osteopath is a much better choice.
