"Biohazard" By Ken Alibek. About the covert Soviet bioweapons program during the Cold War. Reading about weaponized anthrax and tularemia while you have a nasty chest cold is one of the most unsettling experiences I've ever been through.

This is really stupid, but back in 5th grade I read Cujo. That book scared the crap out of me! It's kind of silly because it's just about a dog with rabies, but it terrified me.
