Regardless of whether or not he actually believes this, or even if the two of you had a relationship which was sending all the signals to each other that pretty much made it a foregone conclusion, that was just so rude, crude, and inconsiderate! Perhaps he thought he was paying you a compliment, that he felt he was telling you that he finds you were attractive and if it weren't for him getting married he could easily have seen the two of you in a serious relationship.
