I heard Mexicans were going home as a result of the US slow down, is their any thruth to that?

Possibly a few but I rather doubt that many illegal or or legal immigrants from Mexico are returning and any return is made up for by an increase (particularly in illegal immigration) as that place is rapidly degenerating into Somalia South.

Well since they are maybe some of you haters better get ready to go to work and fill the jobs they are leaving open for you or are you too busy asking questions on AB... Maybe these crops will get picked now that there are so many open stoop labor jobs open in 110 degree heat this summer...I am sure there are lots of onions to harvest here in Texas!

It is true but the rate of return is very small. People that come here to work are often leaving their country of origin for something better. Even though the economy in the U.S. is slow at this time, it is sure to pick up again. And that is why most immigrants will just stay here and wait it out.

I couldn't find a current report of this. The earliest was 2008, but it seems that yes, Mexicans are returning home because they can't find work. It's cheaper to live in poverty in Mexico than here and they get to meet their children. I'm of the opinion that Mexicans need to take care of business in their own country. They shouldn't need to come here for jobs, they should be creating their own job markets.
